Real Stories: Demetrius and Terri Moultry
Love. Work. Repeat. (LWR) had the pleasure of interviewing Demetrius and Terri Moultry. This interview was extra special for me because the Moultry's are my high school classmates. We recently reconnected at our class reunion this past summer. I knew after catching up with Demetrius and Terri I had to spotlight them as a LWR Real Stories couple. I hope you are inspired by Demetrius and Terri's story. They talk about laughing, praying and keeping God first in their marriage.
How did you two meet?
D & T - We met in the summer of 1993 through a mutual friend from high school.
How long have you been married now?
D & T - We celebrated 11 years of marriage on the 28th of September.
What were you looking for in a spouse and which of those traits did you find in your spouse?
T - I was looking for a man who served God, made me happy and a good provider.
D - I was looking for someone who made me happy, that cared for me, and served God.
What did you find the most challenging and most rewarding about your first year of marriage?
D & T - Learning to live for someone else besides one’s self was a challenge. Finding out we were truly blessed with each other is the most rewarding.
How do you make time to stay connected as a couple?
D & T - We have a few date nights here and there. We like to take Sunday drives to just talk about whatever is on our hearts.
“Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage.”
- Lao Tzu
What advice would you give to newlyweds?
D & T - Talk to each other about problems. Listen and be open minded. Take some time to get to know each other before you have kids.
Where do you see your marriage in the next 10 years?
D & T - Still growing strong. We will continue to laugh, play and pray together. With God's help we will keep moving forward.
Love. Work. Repeat. would like to say congratulations on recently celebrating your 11 year anniversary. We wish you continued love and blessings in your marriage!
