Fall/ Winter Skincare Products
If your skin is breaking out uncontrollably, my favorite face mask is Aztec Clay also known as Calcium Bentonite. The is by far the best mask I've ever used to seal up pores, dry out insect bites, shrink pimples and more. I use this product to dry my pimples fast. Followed by a splash of MAC Cosmetics Fix+ Spray to calm the skin down after using the mask. Skin care is a must have and a must do during the winter months so your skin continues to stay healthy against the cold. Even though living in Houston we do not get much cold weather, it is still important to have a good skincare regimen. Looking for a gentle make up remover? Try Fresh Soy Face Cleaner products located at Sephora. This is my absolute favorite facial wash right now. Its cucumber and rose scented face wash hydrates calms, removes make up, and tones without stripping the skin of moisture. Does your skin get really dry in the winter? Well, stick a good moisturizer. My favorite moisturizer is Oil of Olay’s Total Effects 7 in One moisturizer and Tone Correcting Eye Cream. This moisturizer is fragrance free, combined with a serum, sunscreen, all in one.
Barely There Foundations and Moisturizers
Foundations this season look very natural almost bare. Remember winter time is approaching, so it’s okay to wear a foundation now that summer is over. I love the look of natural beauty and foundations that give light to medium coverage without weighing down on the skin. These are just a few of my favorite foundations tested on me and clients:
- Face and Body Foundation
- Nars Tinted Moisturizer
- Bare Minerals Liquid Foundation
- Pro Longwear Foundation
- Stila Long-Wearing Foundation
Bring Out Those Lashes!
Mascara is a hot trend for the season. Try Too Faced mascara it gives volume and longer lashes. If you have long thick lashes, this is one to consider because the bristles are big and fluffy. If you're indecisive, try Buxom mascara they come in a variety of bristles from the widest to the thinnest brush to give you the perfect length and volume you desire. Do you like false lashes, but you don't want to wear fakes lashes or your own? I have the perfect product for you TARTE Faux Lashes. This product comes with a regular tube of mascara and another tube with fibers attached to coat your lashes that gives instant length to your lashes. When I don’t want to wear lashes, this a product I use to give my eyes a pop.
Sultry Eyes and Eye Liner
This season it is all about the eyes. Dramatic and heavily lined eyes gives women a rough but fun appearance. Let this season be a time to experiment with thicker, heavier liner. When you're on the go and there's no time for eye shadow, cream eyeliner is perfect for a quick fix. I find them easy to apply, and they come in a variety of colors.
Lipstick Must Haves!
There is nothing like having a lipstick that makes you and your lips look sexy. Lips are seductive followed by natural make up that speaks beautiful, soft almost bare. As I browsed around Sephora testing lipsticks and surfing on the web, there are so many to choose from this season. Don’t be afraid to experiment with lipstick. You will see a variety of nude lip colors, glittery browns, bright to dark gothic lipsticks and glosses. When you’re looking for a lipstick or gloss to suit you, pay close attention to the textures you like, but don’t hesitate to try something new. Here are some of my favorites:
Nars- Audacious Long-wearing Lipstick in Rita is a bold red. We all know I love red lipstick! Red lipsticks are always in my make-up bag.
Channel Rouge- Lipstick Elegante, is a dark, deep plum lipstick, but don’t be afraid to go Goth a little bit. Dark lips give a sexy mysterious look.
Maybelline- NY Color Sensational the Elixir in Vision in Violet has a creamy wash of fuchsia. I like the texture of these lipsticks because they do not feel too sticky for me. Works great as a glossy finish on top of your favorite purple lipstick.
Iman- Lipstick in Scandalous has an opaque, velvety finish textures like these is they are not too matte or creamy.
MAC Lipsticks- Prolong Wear Lipcreme in Too the Future (light yellow-pink), Soft Shell (neutral pink with pearl) and Dress It Up have been my go to colors lately. These are lipstick shades that look natural or can add a soft pop of color to your lips.
Fresh- Sugar Lip Treatment is a product I like to use to give my lips a tint, a natural look and a hint of color.
Holiday Sets! Getting you Ready for the Holidays!
Walking into Sephora is like walking into a candy store there's so much to choose from! Holiday sets are always the best gifts and stocking stuffers. This season, I want to focus on the beautiful make up palettes. Palettes are quick, easy to use, and portable to carry with you for a quick touch for a night on the town. With the holidays around the corner, and Christmas parties to attend, this is the perfect time to welcome these beautiful palettes. It’s all about glitter and shimmer!!
