In the Spotlight: David & Tamela Mann

A rarity in Hollywood, celebrity couple David and Tamela Mann have made their mark on the big and little screen often times working together. Their story is a testament to their dedication to their craft, and to one another.
David Mann, played the wacky and lovable Mr. Brown on the Tyler Perry sitcom “Meet the Browns” for three years. As an actor, gospel singer, and standup comedian David has a longstanding stage and film career appearing in familiar favorites “ I can Do Bad All by Myself”, and “Madea’s Class Reunion.” As noted in his bio David was “a free-spirited adolescent. The self-possessed 15 year-old discovered a way to employ his unsuspecting antics by involving himself in various high school activities including contemporary drama where he permeated the stage world by becoming a budding thespian.” (Source). A native of Fort Worth, Texas, he and his beautiful wife Tamela have 4 children, 3 daughters and 1 son. They are also the proud grandparents of 7.
Tamela J. Mann is also a beloved actress and gospel singer, best known for her role as Cora in a slew of Tyler Perry movies and television shows like “Meet the Browns” and “Madea’s Family Reunion.” Tamela was also born in Fort Worth, Texas and is the youngest of 14 children. When the couple married in 1988, they had a small ceremony with very close friends and family. As they celebrated their 25 years wedding anniversary in April of this year, they went all out with an elaborate and elegant wedding and reception, which showcased not only the love they have for one another, but just how far they have come as individuals and a family.

The Mann’s are still as busy as ever. With Tamela’s musical career in high gear, she is touring all over the country. Tamela has a #1 hit, Take Me to The King, which was written and produced by Kirk Franklin. The song was nominated for a 2013 Grammy award. The Mann’s are also working on co-hosting a new TV show, Hanging With The Mann’s, which follows the dynamic couple as they cook-up delicious recipes and experience adventures together.
