Holiday Travel
The holiday season is here and so is holiday travel. What can you do to ensure stress free holiday travel? Here a few holiday traveling tips you can use to get your travel plans under way:
1. Get an early start. Try to give yourself 5 hours to get to the airport, park, check in and get to through security. You don’t want to leave any opportunity open to miss your flight. If you plan to drive to your destination, start the trip off early, sunrise. Starting early will allow you to advantage of a full day of driving in the daylight.
2. Make it fun or enjoyable. Make sure to pack games, books and electronics to keep your children entertain while waiting at the airport or while riding in the car.
3. Don’t stress try and pack a week before the trip. Packing early will ensure that you have packed all the necessities you need for the trip.
4. Bring identification for your children. If you are traveling by air you will be required to provide identification for yourself and your family. Most airlines will accept passports or birth certificates for your children. You don’t really need this information while traveling by car, but it will be great you do bring them with you or at least copies. In case of emergency you have some identification.
5. Try traveling on the holiday. Roads and airports are usually clear of travelers on the actual holiday. Most travelers are trying to get home to trim the tree or help with the turkey.
6. Be sure to stay aware of the weather at both your departure and arrival points. Bad weather can lead to flight delays and closed roads. Be prepared and have a back up plan!
Have a safe and happy holiday season! Safe travels!
